HC Deb 08 November 1988 vol 140 cc143-4W
Mr. Snape

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has on discrimination against older drivers by motor insurance companies.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

It is for individual insurers to decide whether to insure a particular driver, and if so on what terms. Insurance companies often offer older drivers more favourable terms because of their greater experience and relatively low exposure to risk.
