§ Mr. Geraint HowellsTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he has any further plans to improve health care facilities for the elderly at Cardigan hospital; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GristThe facilities at Cardigan hospital are a matter for East Dyfed health authority in the first instance. That authority's strategic plan includes a scheme to improve and co-ordinate services for the elderly in the Cardigan area by, inter alia, providing consultant geriatrician beds and a day hospital at Cardigan hospital. Timing of the implementation of the scheme is a matter for the authority to determine in the light of competing demands and available resources.
