To ask the Secretary of State for Energy by how much gas prices have increased in real terms in each of the last five years.

Gas prices to the domestic sector have not increased in real terms in any of the last five years; they have fallen at an average rate of 3.1 per cent. per year.

Gas prices to the industrial sector have increased in real terms in only one of the last five years; over the five year period as a whole they have fallen at an average rate of 6.9 per cent. per year.
