To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on his Department's plans to ensure the energy requirements of elderly people are met over the coming winter.

The Government recognise the particular needs of the elderly. This winter my Department will join again in the Government's "Keep Warm Keep Well" campaign. We recognise the importance of the fuel industries' code of practice which protects those in genuine difficulty with their fuel bills.
