HC Deb 07 November 1988 vol 140 c1W
Mr. Rowe

To ask the Prime Minister what representations she has received from people living in the corridor delineated by British Rail for routes 1 and 2 for the proposed high speed rail link to the Channel tunnel, concerning the levels of compensation payable to people disturbed by the introduction of new high speed railway lines, and the mechanisms for deciding such compensation; and what plans she has for reviewing the relevant legislation.

The Prime Minister

As far as I am aware I have received one representation which raised this issue. I have no reason to believe that the existing levels of compensation provided for in the Land Compensation Acts, and the mechanisms for deciding it, are inadequate.
