§ Mr. PikeTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when the report currently in his Department's hands by Miss Pat Niner, of Birmingham university, on homelessness and local authority housing will(a) be sent to the printer and (b) be released; and how much the report cost his Department.
§ Mr. TrippierThe report held by my Department is a draft. A final version which takes account of comments of participating local authorities and relevant Government Departments is currently being discussed with the author Miss Pat Niner. A precise publication date cannot therefore be given at this stage but it is hoped that it will be as soon as possible. The cost of the research on which the report is based is approximately £25,000.
