§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe fieldwork for the study of the A19 has been completed. The consultants report is being prepared and should be with the Department before the end of the year. The terms of reference for the study were:

- 1. to investigate the present and likely future problems caused by any inadequacy of the existing layout and standards of the road and its junction, to cater for present and predicted traffic flows;
- 2. to identify any environmental problems on the existing road; and
- 3. to identify improvements to alleviate these problems, either individually or conjointly that provide solutions with the best value for money.
The estimated cost of the study is £70,000.
