HC Deb 02 November 1988 vol 139 cc692-3W
Mr. Ieuan Wyn Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with the provision made by local authorities in England for emergency housing for people who(a) suffer from alcohol abuse, or (b) are released from prisons or detention centres.

Mr. Trippier

The responsibility to assess such need rests with local housing authorities (in conjunction where necessary with health and social services authorities); appropriate provision is made by authorities, housing associations and voluntary groups, with various forms of Government financial support.
