HC Deb 27 May 1988 vol 134 c371W
Mr. Page

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what arrangements are being made for expenditure provision for regional enterprise grants for innovation in Scotland and Wales and for estimated receipts from the European regional development fund; and what consequential changes to his Department's cash limits for 1988–89 will be made.

Mr. Atkins

Subject to parliamentary approval of the necessary revised and supplementary estimates, the cash limit, for Class V, Vote 2 will be reduced by £4,460,000 from £574,715,000 to £570,255,000 to cover transfers to the Welsh Office's Class XVII, Vote 2 and the Industry Department for Scotland's Class XVI, Vote 3 of provision for expenditure on regional enterprise grants for innovation projects, and to take account of latest estimates for receipts from the European regional development fund.

As a result, the cash limit for Class XVII Vote 2 will increase by £600,000 from £76,100,000 to £76,700,000 and the cash limit for Class XVI, Vote 3 will increase by £1,100,000 from £135,854,000 to £136,954,000.

No net increase to public expenditure results from these changes.
