To ask the Attorney-General how many cases in 1987 involving persons injured by plastic bullets in Northern Ireland have been considered by the Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland; and what action was taken in each case.

The Attorney-General

Between 1 January 1987 and 31 December 1987 the Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland considered 19 cases involving persons injured by plastic bullets in Northern Ireland. No prosecutions were directed in 18 cases. In the remaining case, a direction pends the receipt of further information from the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
