To ask the Secretary of State for Employment (1) what is the total number of people under the age of 25 years who are unemployed in the Kensington constituency (a) as a percentage of all people under the age of 25 years and (b) as a percentage of the total number of unemployed people in the constituency;

(2) how many people under the ages of (a) 23 years and (b) 25 years have been unemployed in Kensington for (i) less than six months, (ii) between six months and one year, (iii) between one year and two years and (iv) over two years; and if he will make a statement.

The following information is in the Library. The table shows the number of unemployed claimants under 25 years in Kensington constituency on 14 April 1988 for the requested durations, together with the under 25 years unemployment level expressed as a percentage of the total unemployed in the constituency. Separate figures are not available for those aged under 23. Data are not available on the number of people in Kensington aged under 25.
