HC Deb 19 May 1988 vol 133 c526W
Mr. Roy Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what progress there has been on the implementation of the Stott report about railway crossings in Wales.

Mr. Peter Walker

This is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport. He has accepted the recommendations of the Stott report in principle and is discussing their implementation with British Rail.

Mr. Roy Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what proposals he has for the installation of automatic-open level crossings fitted with barriers in Wales.

Mr. Peter Walker

None. This is a matter for British Rail in association with the railways inspectorate of the Department of Transport.
