Mr. Freeman

Mr. Menzies Campbell

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what sums have been spent on the provision of ground facilities at RAF Leuchars in the last 10 years for which information is available; what amounts have been provided from sources other than the Treasury; and what were those sources.

Mr. Freeman

Over the past nine years RAF Leuchars has undergone a major redevelopment programme to equip the station for its role as a Tornado F3 base. To date some £60 million has been expended on works services, of which approximately £28 million is expected to be contributed by other members of NATO through the NATO infrastructure fund.
