Mr. Hume

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) if he will make a statement regarding the damage to local houses due to helicopters taking off and landing at the Ulster Defence Regiment base at Chapel street, Cookstown, detailing the number of householders who have made claims in respect of such damage, the total number of such claims, the date of each claim and the compensation paid in each case.

(2) if he will make a statement regarding the use of the helicopter pad at the Ulster Defence Regiment base at Chapel street, Cookstown, indicating what level of use is regarded as acceptable and reasonable for those living close to the pad; and whether consideration has been given to the acquisition or use of an alternative site.
