§ Mr. FavellTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his latest plans to develop measures within the areas of his responsibility in order to combat juvenile crime.
§ Mr. TrippierThe Department is funding a number of projects under the urban programme which help to combat juvenile crime. These include workshop training schemes for offenders and ex-offenders, probation day centres, disruptive pupil projects, day centres for unemployed ex-offenders and hostels for ex-offenders. The Department is also funding under the urban programme projects providing facilities for sport, recreation and play which help to develop social and other skills as well as reducing vandalism and juvenile crime.
