HC Deb 13 May 1988 vol 133 c264W
Mr. Richard Page

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will report on the Internal Market Council held on 3 May.

Mr. Maude

The Council, at which I represented the United Kingdom, adopted directives on the safety of toys, the type approval of tractors, and trade in sliced bovine livers. It adopted a regulation extending current arrangements for the movement within the Community of goods sent from one member state for temporary use in one or more other member states.

The Council also discussed proposed directives on the mutual recognition of higher education diplomas and on right of residence throughout the Community for EC nationals not already covered by the treaty of Rome.
