To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many Coventry citizens were denied permanent practitioner placement in the last year for which figures are available;

(2) how many Coventry citizens had been denied a permanent practitioner placement after complaining of a doctor's misconduct in the latest year for which figures are available.

I regret the information requested is not held centrally. I refer the hon. Member to Coventry family practitioner committee which may be able to provide it. It is, however, the case that where a patient has difficulty in finding a doctor who will accept him on his list, the FPC is empowered to assign that patient to a doctor's list.
