Mr. William Ross

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the chief constable of the Thames Valley police as to the reasons why he did not make a written application to the out of Thames Valley police authority area club, the Wiltshire Shooting Centre, in connection with the application by the late Michael Ryan dated 14 July 1987 for a variation to his firearms certificate.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, further to his answer to the hon. Member for Londonderry, East,Official Report, 3 May, columns 428–29, he will now call for a report from the chief constable of Thames Valley police as to what date the crime prevention officer who compiled the report dated 27 April 1987 entered details in his pocket book of the date of his visit to inspect the security arrangements for the firearms of the late Michael Ryan.
