HC Deb 10 May 1988 vol 133 c76W
Mr. Wray

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list the representations regarding(a) human rights, (b) pluralistic democracy and (c) territorial violations which Her Majesty's Government have made to other Governments for each year since 1974.

Mr. Mellor

It is not practicable to list all representations made by Her Majesty's Government since 1974. However, in our dealings with other Governments, we regularly raise human rights and territorial violations and make clear our support for a pluralistic democracy as appropriate. Such representations, on human rights for example, are sometimes more productive if undertaken without publicity.
