§ Mr. ForthTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will publish in theOfficial Report (a) the number of schools inspected by Her Majesty's inspectors, in each year since 1983, (b) the number of these schools formally inspected and having reports issued upon them and (c) the number of Her Majesty's inspectors currently in post.
§ Mr. DunnIn the academic year 1983–84 Her Majesty's inspectors visited some 3,600 primary and 3,400 secondary schools. The corresponding figures for 1984–85 are some 3,000 primary and 2,200 secondary schools, and for 1985–86 some 3,000 primary and 2,100 secondary schools. Formal inspections led to published reports as follows:
