HC Deb 04 May 1988 vol 132 c488W
Mr. Leighton

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what information he has as to how many hours there are in the average working week in South Korea, and on the average wage there.

Mr. Lee

The latest available information relates to 1986 and is published by the International Labour Office in its "Yearbook of Labour Statistics 1987." In nonagricultural activities, average hours worked per week by employees are shown as 52.5 and average earnings per month as 350,966 Won, approximately £63 per week.
