To ask the Lord President of the Council how much debating time was allocated to Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish affairs in 1986–87; and what legislation relating exclusively to each region was brought forward.

Excluding questions, the time allowed in session 1986–87 for debate of Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish affairs was as follows:

During that period seven Bills were introduced relating solely to Scotland; one Bill related exclusively to Northern Ireland; and none related exclusively to Wales. With regard to secondary legislation, the Secretary of State for Wales presented 12 statutory instruments, the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland one statutory instrument, and the Secretary of State for Scotland 111 statutory instruments. In addition, the Secretary of State For Northern Ireland brought forward 15 Orders in Council for consideration by the House.
