HC Deb 31 March 1988 vol 130 cc646-7W
Mr. Harry Ewing

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make it his policy to refrain from dealings with the company Michael Forsyth Limited so long as it continues to trade under the name of a Minister in his Department; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Malcolm Rifkind

No. Government dealings with private companies are carried out in accordance with rules that are generally well understood; I do not propose to add to these rules any proposition about the name under which a company chooses to trade. The Minister for education and health no longer has an interest in Michael Forsyth Limited.
