§ Mr. PortilloThe adjudication officers' guide will be published by Her Majesty's Stationery Office today. Its 10 volumes contain detailed guidance on the full range of adjudicable social security benefits including the new benefits of family credit and income support. Previous guidance on other benefits, most of which was not published, has been completely rewritten. The guide will be invaluable both to adjudication officers in determining social security claims and questions and to outside agencies in providing help and advice to claimants. Copies have been placed in the Library.
