HC Deb 29 March 1988 vol 130 c460W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many injuries have occurred in transport-related incidents in the United Kingdom in the last year.

Mrs. Currie

I have been asked to reply.

The number of injuries occurring in transport-related incidents is not collected centrally. However, there were 6,094 deaths registered in the United Kingdom in 1986 with an underlying cause of death assigned to transport accidents (International Classification of Diseases 9th revision E800-E848).
