HC Deb 28 March 1988 vol 130 c355W
Mr. Cartwright

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what was the outcome of discussions he has had with Newham council about the replacement of the electronic warning signs on major roads leading to the Woolwich ferry and if he will make a statement on when he expects these signs to be back in action.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

We are currently considering cost estimates front Newham for the replacement of the signs. A solution of the current industrial dispute at the ferry will avoid much of the need for such signs and this still remains our aim.
