§ Mr. Norman LamontThe Treasury-Stock Exchange survey carried out by NOP Market Research Ltd. between 20 January and 15 February 1988 found that approximately 1/2 million individuals in Scotland were shareholders. The Target Group index survey, carried out 123W by the British Market Research Bureau between April 1978 and March 1979 found that approximately 1/4 million individuals in Scotland were shareholders. Both sets of figures are produced by statistical surveys of Great Britain as a whole — the figures are therefore subject to sampling error, which may be substantial for component categories.
