HC Deb 17 March 1988 vol 129 c626W
Mr. Nicholas Bennett

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the location and number of(a) military personnel and (b) non-military personnel employed in (i) Pembrokeshire, (ii) Dyfed and (iii) Wales.

Mr. Freeman

It would not be in the public interest to provide details of the number of personnel in individual defence establishments. The total numbers of personnel, military and non-military, in the areas specified are shown in the table. The figures relate to 1 July 1987, and those for Pembrokeshire cover establishments in the Preseli and South Pembrokeshire local authority areas.

Total Service Personnel Civilian Personnel
(i) Pembrokeshire 1,884 797 1,087
(ii) Dyfed 3,040 831 2,209
(iii) Wales 12,040 6,076 5,964
