Dr. ThomasTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what information he 577W possesses on the statement and hearing by the EEC Environment Commissioner before the European Parliament special inquiry committee into nuclear waste and nuclear materials transport in the EEC, held at Strasbourg on 10 March.
§ Mr. MellorMr. Clinton Davies, Commissioner for the Environment, stated that the Commission had so far found no irregularities in the mode of transport or of the containers used in the transport of radioactive material between Belgium and Federal Germany and Commission experts had found that the radioactivity of discharges from Mol had remained within Community public health limits. However, there had been irregularities in the labelling and recording of nuclear waste sent from Mol and the Commission would now consider the need for Community legislation in this area.
