To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will call for a report from (i) the Central Electricity Generating Board in the United Kingdom and (ii) the Health and Safety Executive's Nuclear Installations Inspectorate about what implications the closure of the Magnox reactor at Latina in Italy has for the British Magnox programme; and if he will make a statement.

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what information he has on the statement made by the EEC Environment Commissioner before the European Parliament on 9 March in Strasbourg concerning the applicability of Euratom treaty article 34 to present Central Electricity Generating Board plans to conduct safety tests on their Magnox reactors.
