Mr. JacksonMy right hon. Friend receives many representations bearing on university funding. As shown in table 12.1 of "The Government's Expenditure Plans 1988–89 to 1990–91" volume II (Cm 288) current provision for the universities is planned to increase by 7.9 per cent. between 1987–88 and 1988–89.
