My right hon. Friend meets the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals from time to time and addressed its conference on 30 October. He has not met the Scottish vice-chancellors as a group, though my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Scotland did so on 4 March. I visited Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt and Stirling universities last October and will be visiting Aberdeen, Glasgow and Strathclyde shortly. A wide range of higher education matters is discussed during these meetings and visits.
