§ Mr. CorbynTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many applications for registration under the British Nationality Act 1981 have been(a) received by his Department, (b) fully processed and accepted, (c) acknowledged but not decided upon and (d) awaiting acknowledgement.
§ Mr. RentonSince 1 April 1987 an estimated 295,000 applications of all types for British citizenship have been received; 43,895 applications have been granted. Some 105,000 applications for registration and naturalisation which have yet to be decided upon have been acknowledged and a further 130,000 packages containing citizenship applications await acknowledgement.
