To ask the Minister for the Arts what is his estimate of the current inflation rate of building costs within the British Library project; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Luce

The estimate for the current inflation rate of building costs for the new British Library at St. Pancras is 7 per cent. on an annual basis.
