§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis on whether the police force order relating to domestic violence has been fully implemented, and as to whether a local referral point and nearest refuge to each police station has been identified; if he will list the number of domestic violence incidents for each police division since the police force orders to the end of February; in how many such cases police transport was provided; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggImplementation of force orders within the Metropolitan police district is the responsibility of the commissioner. I understand from the commissioner that the implementation of the force order relating to domestic violence is being evaluated.
I also understand that local referral points for victims have been identified, together with a centralised emergency line to find the most appropriate refuge in each case; and that police transport is provided for victims wishing to go to a refuge. I regret that statistics in the form requested by the hon. Member are not available.
