§ Mr. Clifford ForsytheTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will forecast the completion date of the Antrim area hospital; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. NeedhamContracts for the construction of the new Antrim hospital will be let at the end of this year and I expect building work to be complete by December 1992.
The new hospital will provide urgently needed, modern facilities for acute services for the people of Antrim, Larne, Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Newtownabbey as well as providing some specialised services for the whole of the northern area.
This is a vital development and I should like to take this opportunity to reaffirm my full commitment to the project.
