To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prison places it is anticipated will lack access to night sanitation by the end of 1999.

It is anticipated that 14,500 places will lack access to night sanitation by the end of 1999. By then 12 establishments now without night sanitation should have facilities for all inmates, and a further nine establishments for some inmates.

Metropolitan police when deciding which approved business to call when arranging the removal of vehicles from motorways.

The police select the garage nearest to the motorway junction which will give quickest access to the incident. Where that garage cannot provide immediate service the next nearest will be selected.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the businesses approved, with date of approval, by the Metropolitan police for removal of vehicles from the M3 via junction 1 and from the M25 via junctions 13, 14 and 15.
