To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what percentage of United Kingdom military production is exported.

[holding answer 26 February 1988]: No precise figures are available but it is estimated that 20 to 25 per cent. of United Kingdom production of identifiable military equipment in the years 1984 to 1986 was exported.
