§ Mr. BoyesTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the nature of the 135 accidents to Royal Air Force Jaguar nuclear-capable aircraft between June 1975 and June 1987; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. FreemanThe detailed information requested by the hon. Member could not be produced in the time available without disproportionate cost and effort. Most of the Royal Air Force Jaguars involved in serious accidents during this period were repaired at local RAF stations, but 49 such aircraft suffered irreparable damage or were lost. Since 1980 summaries of the findings of RAF boards of inquiry into all major Jaguar accidents have been placed in the Library of the House.
