To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement about the future of upland farming in Britain.

Mr. Donald Thompson

I remain committed to ensuring a secure future for upland farming. The recent decisions of the European Council will provide farmers throughout the United Kingdom with a more stable framework within which they can now plan for the future.
