§ Mr. IngramTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if it is his intention to offer any compensation to the United States Tobacco Company and its work force for the consequences of the announcement made by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Health, the hon. Member for Derbyshire, South (Mrs. Currie) on 26 February,Official Report, column 362, concerning a prohibition on tobacco products for oral use.
§ Mr. LangMy hon. Friend the Member for Derbyshire, South has invited representations from interested bodies and until these have been received and considered no final decision on the prohibition on tobacco products for oral use will be taken. The question of possible consequences of any prohibition does not therefore arise at this stage.
