To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the average annual expenditure per patient in 1986–87 by the Pontefract district health authority.

[holding answer 1 March 1988]: For 1986–87, hospital costing returns submitted by the Pontefract district health authority show average costs per patient treated as follows (average costs for the Yorkshire region are also included for comparative purposes).

The Department of the Environment (Northern Ireland) will continue to consult the Banbridge district council on all planning applications involving land within its administrative area. This will take the form of the presentation on a regular basis of a schedule of applications received. Schedules will indicate the preliminary opinion of the Department as to how each application should be determined. In accordance with established practice, if the Department does not receive the comments of the council within two weeks, a decision will be issued in accordance with the provisional opinion.
