Mr. McGrady

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he intends to publish a policy statement for museums in Northern Ireland.

Dr. Mawhinney

I have no plans to do so.

Mr. McGrady

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what discussions he has had with the Irish Museums Association in Ireland about the role of museums in Northern Ireland.

Dr. Mawhinney

None.

Mr. McGrady

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he intends to provide funding for museums in Northern Ireland other than the Ulster museum.

Dr. Mawhinney

In addition to the Ulster museum, the Government provides funding for the Ulster folk and transport museum and the Ulster American folk park. To date it has not been possible to make available resources to other museums.
