To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what are the estimated costs to his Department of the establishment of 28 additional beds at Aberdeen maternity hospital.

The 28-bed development at Aberdeen maternity hospital is a minor capital scheme which Grampian health board is carrying out. I understand that the provisional estimate for the work is in the region of £267,000.
