Whether any nuclear tests of British nuclear devices that might be carried out at United States facilities will be covered by or affected by the agreements reached by the United States and the Soviet Union on the Joint Verification Experiment and other matters relating to nuclear testing.
§ The Minister of State for Defence Procurement (Lord Trefgarne)The joint verification experiment are bilateral to the US and Soviet Union and have been conceived to help solve the verification problems which have prevented ratification of the bilateral US/Soviet threshold test ban treaty. All tests of UK nuclear devices are already of a kilotonnage below the threshold set by this treaty.
