To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will place in the Library a copy of the report of the investigation into the accident to Penlee quarry, Newlyn, Penzance on 28 January 1987, by the mines and quarries inspectorate.

No. The disclosure of information is governed by the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. Within these constraints there are established procedures for the supply of factual information by the executive to interested parties.

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment (1) on what date a guard was installed on the troughed conveyors at Penlee quarry, Newlyn, following the accident on 28 January 1987; and if he will make a statement;

(2) on what occasions advice was given by inspectors to the occupier of Penlee quarry, Newlyn, concerning the standard of guarding for their troughed belt conveyors installed at the quarry.
