§ Mr. SpearingTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps he took to publicise the Western European Union statement entitled, "Platform on European Security Interests", arising from the meeting of the Foreign and Defence Ministers meeting at the Hague on 27 October 1987; and if he will make a statement as to what extent it represents the policy of Her Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. MellorThe Western European Union "Platform on European Security Interests" was placed in the Library of the House following its adoption and has received considerable media publicity. It has been quoted regularly in ministerial and other speeches and has been further publicised in a Western European Union brochure about that organisation's activities. We endorse the platform.
