asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the Council of Europe's European Prison Rules, published in 1987, have been provided in the library of every prison department establishment.

Prison governors were informed earlier this year that theEuropean Prison Rules, 1987 should be included in all prison libraries and that copies would be made available by the prison department. It is intended to issue the document within the next few weeks.
