§ Mr. John PattenA number of right hon. and hon. Members have made representations recently about the call which the organisation "Women in Golf" has made for a change in the law. In its recent report "Equal Treatment for Men and Women" the Equal Opportunities Commission included a proposal to bring private clubs with both female and male members within the scope of the Sex Discrimination Act. I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to her questions on this on 14 March.
