To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consultations he has had with disability organisations concerning the increase from 5p to £5 in the concessionary television licence for elderly and disabled people living in residential care; and if he will make a statement.

There was no need for consultation on this issue.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what the estimated net revenue will be from the recent increase in television licence fees for elderly and disabled people who live in sheltered housing or in residential homes.

Mr. Renton

About £2 million a year, which will cover the costs of collection and extensions to the scheme.
